Regent

Designed by Vincent Van Duysen, the Regent coffee tables explore modularity, proportion, and tactile elegance across three distinct top shapes: round, oval, and square. Each variation features a height inversely related to its footprint, allowing the tables to nest together in layered compositions or form standalone sculptural accents. The round version is also designed to slide partially over sofas in the collection, offering a convenient surface for everyday use.

The defining element of the Regent series is its ring-shaped base, composed of two slender burnished aluminum bands joined with precise, crafted detailing. One ring supports the top, while the other forms the base, joined by vertical rods in a refined structural rhythm.

Tops are made from Etna lava stone, finished with oven-baked enameling that incorporates recycled glass from old TV and PC screens. This sustainable, vitrified surface adds chromatic depth and texture, while the metal-band motif connects the Regent design to the broader Timeout and Landmark collections.

Vincent Van Duysen

Born in 1962 in Lokeren, Belgium, Vincent Van Duysen studied architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas in Ghent. Between 1986 and 1989, he gained valuable experience working in Milan and Brussels before establishing his own studio in Antwerp in 1990. His work seamlessly blends architecture and interior design, creating a symbiotic relationship between the two disciplines. Van Duysen’s designs for furnishings and accessories adopt an architectural mindset, prioritizing spatial awareness and the interaction between interior and exterior environments. By reshaping architectural proportions, he crafts designs that are pure, simple, and timeless, yet retain a tangible solidity and substance.

Van Duysen’s architectural practice has undertaken a broad range of noteworthy projects. These include his first venture into the Belgian hotel industry and an impressive portfolio of international work. Among his key projects are private residences in cities such as London, New York, and Milan, as well as offices in Beirut and Riyadh. He has also designed high-end commercial spaces in global capitals like Paris, Rome, and Hong Kong. Additionally, Van Duysen has collaborated with Molteni&C, creating iconic pieces such as the Gliss Master cabinet system and the Ribbon bed.
