The base is available in satin stainless steel or grey PVD finish, while the rotating disc is always rendered in polished steel, emphasizing the duality of surface and function. The cylindrical mixer can be integrated on the spout or configured separately into two distinct taps. Awarded the prestigious Compasso d’Oro ADI in 2018, Eclipse is a refined balance of engineering, materiality, and symbolism—a piece that redefines the relationship between object and ritual.

Eclipse
The Eclipse tap collection by Studiocharlie for Boffi is a sculptural series of bathroom fittings in AISI 304 stainless steel, inspired by the celestial mechanics of an eclipse. Its iconic design features two overlapping cylindrical discs: when the tap is closed, the discs align in perfect symmetry; when opened, the upper disc translates and rotates to control water flow and temperature with a single, fluid gesture. This intuitive movement transforms an everyday function into a poetic experience.
Objects have the power to make us feel better or worse, to make our life more complicated or more fulfilled. They can be annoying, invisible or exciting; they can procure well-being or irritation. They are an awkward or reassuring presence. We want to design objects which lower the background noise, surprise by their essential quality and reveal the thought beyond their simplicity.
Studiocharlie was founded in 2002 by Gabriele Rigamonti, Carla Scorda and Vittorio Turla. They received the Honourable Mention in 2004 for the XX Compasso d’Oro ADI with Csuni typeface project. They design for: Atipico, Billiani 1911, Boffi, Bonacina 1889, De Padova, Designercarpets, Lanificio Leo, Lema, Made a Mano, Mipa, Nemo, Salvatori. They also work in editorial and cultural projects related to the theme of design. In 2018, Studiocharlie wins the Compasso d’Oro ADI prize with the family of taps Eclipse for Boffi.
