Kifisia open plan residence – A Boffi design by Àper

Located in Kifisia, this open-plan residence is conceived as a fluid architectural landscape, where kitchen and living areas coexist within a continuous spatial framework.

At its center, a sculptural island based on the Boffi XILA model establishes a strong material presence. Finished in EASYLAK PLUS in Leeds Grey, the square-hedged 23mm doors enhance the clarity of its geometry, while the black matt handle-rail introduces a subtle horizontal accent. Monolithic yet inviting, the island functions simultaneously as preparation area, gathering point, and informal dining surface.

Integrated cooking elements are paired with a fully concealed downdraft extractor that rises from the worktop when activated and retracts entirely when not in use, preserving the island’s uninterrupted form. Integrated waste systems and a built-in food disposal unit are discreetly embedded within the island structure, maintaining the purity of the design. The internal structure in thermo-treated larch wood adds both durability and refined material depth.

The surrounding tall units follow the Standard H.790 system, also finished in EASYLAK PLUS in Leeds Grey with square-hedged 23mm doors, forming a calm and continuous architectural envelope. Yard black handles emphasize the vertical rhythm of the composition, while the thermo-treated larch wood carcass ensures structural consistency and tactile quality.

A vertical storage unit operates as a subtle spatial divider between the open kitchen and the corridor leading to the rear rooms. Reinterpreted as a functional storage, it integrates concealed compartments and a built-in wine cellar, transforming a transitional area into a refined storage architecture.

Full-height pocket doors allow specific operational zones to be enclosed when required, offering flexibility without compromising spatial continuity. When open, the kitchen reads as a unified architectural system; when closed, it becomes a composed, minimal surface.

An illuminated glass cabinet introduces transparency and depth, revealing a refined selection of tableware while preserving order and balance. The result is a kitchen conceived not as a standalone functional zone, but as an integrated architectural environment — defined by precision, seamless detailing, and the disciplined elegance of Boffi.

At Àper | Boffi De Padova Studio, each project is approached as a holistic architectural composition, where design precision, functionality, and material integrity coexist in perfect balance. In this Kifisia residence, the kitchen is not treated as a standalone element, but as the spatial core of the home — conceived with clarity, discipline, and a timeless architectural sensibility.
