Book&look Composition

THE CONCEPT
Originally launched in 2009 and updated in 2016 and 2017 to enhance functionality and introduce new finishes, Book&Look underwent a further update in 2019. The latest improvements include the introduction of a new push-latch system for doors, the addition of decorative and functional niches in chests (for both living room furniture and sideboards), a new bookcase size, and a significant expansion of available finishes.

PRODUCTION QUALITY & FINISHES
The traditional push-opening mechanism has been replaced with a new, more reliable push-latch system, also featured in the Et Cetera collection. This consists of a magnetized pin housed in a small box inside the chest and a galvanized plate embedded in the door. The system allows for easy adjustment by tightening or loosening the pin and ensures a smooth, quiet closing experience thanks to a central silicone pad. The latch finish is light grey for units in white, argile, perle lacquer, or “pack” colors, and black for pieces in the plomb finish — harmonizing with the color palette of the collection.

To add rhythm and depth to the fronts of chests and sideboards, new decorative niches have been introduced. These niches can be incorporated into chests with 2, 3, 4, or 6 doors, offering a wide range of layout options (detailed on the pricing pages). The interior of the niche matches the color of the chest, while the niche itself is composed of five customizable elements: a 0.5” aluminum frame available in 16 lacquer colors, a back panel finished in the same lacquer as the chest, and an optional finished back panel available in all 16 lacquer shades. Recessed LED lighting (four 3mm strips) can be added to the finished panel, creating a soft neutral white (4000K) halo effect, powered by a 20W transformer that supports up to two illuminated back panels. Shelving options for the niche include either a 1/3” thick “crystal” glass shelf or a 1/8” aluminum shelf offered in the 16 lacquer colors.

ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENTS
The B5 single bookcase, now introduced, is designed at two-thirds the width of the C3 model, providing more layout flexibility.
Selections have also expanded: chests and podiums are now available in 16 lacquer “pack” colors and in Gloss White Lacquer, with standard finishes including Argile, White, Perle, Gloss White, and the new Plomb shade. Chest doors are now also available in a vertically grained walnut veneer, and select bookcases come in the full lacquer color range as well as Gloss White Lacquer and walnut veneer.
