Fairmount

Designed by Vincent Van Duysen for Molteni&C’s Landmark Collection, the Fairmount table brings architectural precision and tactile warmth to outdoor living. Crafted entirely from solid teak, it showcases the brand’s mastery in woodworking and the designer’s signature balance between form and function. Available in both rectangular and round versions, Fairmount responds to diverse outdoor needs—from intimate dinners to large social gatherings.

The rectangular model evokes Van Duysen’s Golden Gate table, with a dual-leg base and an innovative plank arrangement that creates a subtle optical illusion of a floating top. The round version features a sculptural Y-shaped base formed by three solid teak beams, encouraging conviviality and organic flow in outdoor settings.

Fairmount’s natural teak is untreated, sourced from controlled supply chains, and maintained easily with occasional oiling. Its monomaterial construction not only enhances its aesthetic purity but also aligns with sustainable outdoor living—making it a timeless, environmentally conscious centerpiece.

Vincent Van Duysen

Born in 1962 in Lokeren, Belgium, Vincent Van Duysen studied architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas in Ghent. Between 1986 and 1989, he gained valuable experience working in Milan and Brussels before establishing his own studio in Antwerp in 1990. His work seamlessly blends architecture and interior design, creating a symbiotic relationship between the two disciplines. Van Duysen’s designs for furnishings and accessories adopt an architectural mindset, prioritizing spatial awareness and the interaction between interior and exterior environments. By reshaping architectural proportions, he crafts designs that are pure, simple, and timeless, yet retain a tangible solidity and substance.

Van Duysen’s architectural practice has undertaken a broad range of noteworthy projects. These include his first venture into the Belgian hotel industry and an impressive portfolio of international work. Among his key projects are private residences in cities such as London, New York, and Milan, as well as offices in Beirut and Riyadh. He has also designed high-end commercial spaces in global capitals like Paris, Rome, and Hong Kong. Additionally, Van Duysen has collaborated with Molteni&C, creating iconic pieces such as the Gliss Master cabinet system and the Ribbon bed.
