Hedera
Part of Molteni&C’s refined outdoor rug collection, Hedera brings a delicate rhythm and Mediterranean balance to open-air spaces. Defined by a soft interplay of olive green and beige, the rug’s striped pattern evokes the organic asymmetry of ivy—its namesake—while harmonizing effortlessly with natural textures like teak and burnished metal.
Woven with a mottled surface that is both tactile and visually nuanced, Hedera combines subtle complexity with earthy restraint. The design captures the quiet strength of natural materials, making it an ideal foundation for terraces, verandas, or garden lounges. Whether paired with wood-framed furniture or iron-toned structures, Hedera provides visual warmth and understated sophistication.
Born in 1962 in Lokeren, Belgium, Vincent Van Duysen studied architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas in Ghent. Between 1986 and 1989, he gained valuable experience working in Milan and Brussels before establishing his own studio in Antwerp in 1990. His work seamlessly blends architecture and interior design, creating a symbiotic relationship between the two disciplines. Van Duysen’s designs for furnishings and accessories adopt an architectural mindset, prioritizing spatial awareness and the interaction between interior and exterior environments. By reshaping architectural proportions, he crafts designs that are pure, simple, and timeless, yet retain a tangible solidity and substance.
Van Duysen’s architectural practice has undertaken a broad range of noteworthy projects. These include his first venture into the Belgian hotel industry and an impressive portfolio of international work. Among his key projects are private residences in cities such as London, New York, and Milan, as well as offices in Beirut and Riyadh. He has also designed high-end commercial spaces in global capitals like Paris, Rome, and Hong Kong. Additionally, Van Duysen has collaborated with Molteni&C, creating iconic pieces such as the Gliss Master cabinet system and the Ribbon bed.

Woven in soft olive green and beige stripes, Hedera’s organic pattern complements both wood and burnished iron—bringing quiet rhythm to outdoor environments.
