The rug’s surface interacts beautifully with natural light, offering visual movement and serenity underfoot. Whether used as a grounding layer in a lounge area or to complement outdoor furniture pieces, Palma unites texture, ecology, and elegance in one timeless expression.

Palma
Designed by Nicola Gallizia, the Palma rug brings a poetic sense of tactility and environmental consciousness to both indoor and outdoor spaces. Inspired by the feeling of walking barefoot on sand, Palma explores texture and light with a design that evokes the filtered shadows of palm leaves—a subtle, organic geometry that adds depth and softness to any setting.
Made entirely from recycled and recyclable PET fibers, Palma not only mimics the natural sheen of silk but also reflects Molteni&C’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Its composition combines durability with refined aesthetics, making it ideal for terraces, patios, or transitional indoor-outdoor zones.
Born in Milan and educated at the Faculty of Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic, Nicola Gallizia has long been immersed in the world of Italian design. From 1990 to 1999, he worked closely with Luca Meda, shaping the image and products of Molteni&C and Dada. Since then, he has continued as an image and product development consultant, bringing conceptual clarity and visual coherence to some of Italy’s most respected design brands.
In 2003, Gallizia became the artistic director of Molteni&C, overseeing creative direction across catalogues, exhibitions, retail spaces, and product design. He has also collaborated with the Camera Group, Penta Lighting, and Pitti Living, and in 2005, founded his own interior design studio, CZ36, in Milan.
His approach combines architecture, storytelling, and brand identity, shaping refined environments and objects that speak with quiet authority.
“The image reveals the forms that curious eye craves.” — Nicola Gallizia
