Molteni&C

Ueno

Designed by Vincent Van Duysen, the Ueno screen offers a refined way to shape and define outdoor spaces with elegance and discretion. Rooted in the design language of the Timeout Collection, it features a slender burnished metal frame and hand-woven polypropylene cord in anthracite, forming a semi-transparent surface that balances privacy with openness.

Ueno functions as both a decorative accent and a spatial tool—ideal for creating subtle separations between lounge areas, dining zones, or poolside retreats. Its interplay of tactile materials and clean structure reflects the same rhythm found across Molteni&C’s Outdoor Collection, making it a versatile companion piece to sofas, loungers, benches, and tables alike.

Durable, lightweight, and visually understated, the Ueno screen enriches outdoor living with quiet sophistication, modular flexibility, and the timeless material harmony that defines Van Duysen’s design ethos.

Vincent Van Duysen

Born in 1962 in Lokeren, Belgium, Vincent Van Duysen studied architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas in Ghent. Between 1986 and 1989, he gained valuable experience working in Milan and Brussels before establishing his own studio in Antwerp in 1990. His work seamlessly blends architecture and interior design, creating a symbiotic relationship between the two disciplines. Van Duysen’s designs for furnishings and accessories adopt an architectural mindset, prioritizing spatial awareness and the interaction between interior and exterior environments. By reshaping architectural proportions, he crafts designs that are pure, simple, and timeless, yet retain a tangible solidity and substance.

Van Duysen’s architectural practice has undertaken a broad range of noteworthy projects. These include his first venture into the Belgian hotel industry and an impressive portfolio of international work. Among his key projects are private residences in cities such as London, New York, and Milan, as well as offices in Beirut and Riyadh. He has also designed high-end commercial spaces in global capitals like Paris, Rome, and Hong Kong. Additionally, Van Duysen has collaborated with Molteni&C, creating iconic pieces such as the Gliss Master cabinet system and the Ribbon bed.
